MLFA Applauds Dismissal of Terrorism Charges Against Craig Baxam

“This was not a terrorism case, a charge the government ultimately dismissed.”

DALLAS -- February 3, 2014 -- Representatives from the Muslim Legal Fund of America, a charitable civil liberties legal fund, are applauding the dismissal of all terrorism-related charges against Army veteran Craig Baxam.

Baxam, age 26, pled guilty to destroying his computer and was sentenced to seven years in prison and five years of supervised release thereafter. Baxam’s attorney, Linda Moreno, made the following statement regarding his plea deal:

DALLAS – August 14, 2012 – The Muslim Legal Fund of America, a civil liberties defense fund, has agreed to fund the defense of Craig Baxam, a U.S. Army veteran who was detained and questioned by authorities in Kenya and then charged with "material support" based on his answers to hypothetical questions.
